When it comes to adding or renovating a bathroom, it becomes vital for you to make several crucial decisions. It is even more challenging to do so when there are numerous options to choose from. This is evident when you have to choose from the collection of glass shower enclosures.

For selecting the best piece, you need to know the area and the dimensions of the shower space, the time you can spend daily for maintenance, and the amount of space between the space and other fixtures. Modern designs often have minimal hardware to showcase the ageless aesthetics to brighten the shower space. While this is a common feature, there will be at least one exclusive feature that distinguishes one enclosure or door type from the other.

So, it is essential for you to know the different shower door or enclosure styles. Here are the five styles that you should know:

Hinged / Swinging / Pivot

These shower door enclosures feature single or multiple glass panes and a few hinges on a side enabling the door to open outward or inward. Available in framed and frameless styles, they swing open to facilitate entry.  While this restricts bathroom space, these enclosures are quite versatile. Consider this style if you have a small shower opening or a big one with a dead panel. A frameless model will result in a more slim and pleasing line of sight.

Corner Shower

These enclosures have two or more glass panes on two or more sides. They are ideal for spacious bathrooms because the two glass sides should not near a wall.

Neo-Angle

These glass shower enclosures typically flank a shower built in the corner. The glass forms five sides in total, including the door. A still glass panel exists at either end of the walls and a third panel acts as a door while bridging the gap from the still panels. The door side forms the front wall of this design.  These enclosures give a free view of the walls behind, which means they can easily show any appealing tile work. However, they are quite expensive, and that they are also harder to install than a standard shower door.

Curved

These enclosures are similar to corner doors. However, as the name suggests, the glass is curved. The door curves across the front of the enclosure of your shower. As a result, you get additional space inside the shower although more space is consumed inside the bathroom. While this design adds a unique look to your bathroom, it is more expensive than a normal flat design.

Steam

These doors cover right from the floor to ceiling to enclose the whole shower area. Their edges are sealed so that the steam can accumulate inside to make your shower zone a steam room. Such enclosures are quite expensive and need professional care.

Conclusion These glass shower enclosures are in trend at present. You can choose what best fits your home and budget.
